Our representative on the Dallas City Council is supposed be our voice at City Hall, a voice for the people, and our neighborhoods. I truly believe we could improve the quality of life of every single district resident by having a strong leader for our concerns at City Hall who would work with us instead of against us.
I have a record of getting things done for working families. I have attended hundreds of meeting and have knocked on thousands of doors to better know you and your concerns. Please read my platform below and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have in your neighborhood.

An Affordable Dallas for All Families

Omar is committed to helping families stay in their homes at an affordable cost while increasing housing options in ways that don’t harm our environment or lead to gentrification. He will also work to end unfair appraisals.

Better Streets and Infrastructure.

I have a record of making sure our district gets its fair share of dollars in fixing our roads and ensuring we get street lights into neighborhoods.

Beautiful Parks and a Clean Environment

Omar is committed to protecting our natural areas and expanding the city’s park system. He has been a strong voice against the proposed cement plant behind Edison Middle School.

A Rich Arts and Culture Scene for the Whole Community

OmarĀ believes Dallas should commit to a strong financing of public arts programs that reach into underserved neighborhoods.

Safer Neighborhoods

Omar has been a strong voice for increased police, fire, and 9-1-1 call center pay to catch up with the increasing needs of the community.

Strong, Independent Leadership

District 6 had been ignored for far too long before Omar took office. As your council member, he is committed to being accessible and responsive to your neighborhood concerns. He is not beholden to any special interests and has pledged to block any corrupt, back-door deals at City Hall.
